I think 90% of the reason people question the usefulness of Spell Breaker is because you run stupid attributes on an infuser.

If you're running a degen illusion mesmer with 14-16 illusion, you wouldn't run ESurge instead of Migraine.

By that same measure, why bother running an elite on an SB / Infuser that isnt where the majority of your attributes are?

If you run 16 Heal, 11 DF and 8 Inspiration, of course SB's use is questionable, it's hardly worth the 15 energy let alone the slot on your skillbar with like a 12 second duration. The idea behind the skill is to provide a period of almost sanctuary if you will for one person, ideally the ghost on an altar map or yourself as the infuser vs spikes that run rampant in HA. If you run 16 Divine Favor, you end up with an 18 second SB that lasts 22 seconds with an enchanting mod. OMG WTF SB doesnt suck so much anymore that I figured out how to make it last longer. Granted there are a lot of other forms of interrupts in HA but to say that those are the only ones to focus on while ignoring Cry, PD, Complicate, Wail of Doom etc is pretty stupid in my eyes. As much as you claim NR/Tranq builds run rampant, most of them run a PD and coincidentally a great counter to NR/Tranq's is also PD. On a side note: Are they ever going to fix PD going through interrupt prevention skills or is $50 a pop for nightfall the only thing on ArenaNet's minds right now?

Psychic Distraction is SUPPOSED to go through resolve/concentration.

Eh, I forgot about this thread. Anyway, while I still think SB is a mild luxury at best against casterspikes, I can see how it'd be useful against PD.

Why should it? Its a skill that interupts,Mantra of resolve and concentration is supposed to stop you from being interupted.
If am not mistaken it works the same way as blackout? That it interupts if the skill finishes before blackout/pd finishes, but not if the skill is still going when the backout/disabel effect ends.

Exactly. Try more mesmer interrupts, and you'll see why I said that it's supposed to go through (resolve/concentration) :

Power leak, drain, spike, etc... won't interrupt but still get the second effect.
Powerblock and Psychic Distraction won't actually interrupt the skill, but apply the blackout effect. When the spell finishes casting, it will fail.

With the increase in non spell based teams(if you know waht i mean) it can be usefull to take ehaling hands if iway are anoying you etc, but SB definatly still has its place on alter maps and relic runs in particular.

with standard 3 monk backlines you can easily have no harm done from taking sb as its a key factor in trying to cap the hoh altar to stop pd, gale, cry, etc

also useful in relic runs if your runner is getting gale locked

however i never was a big fan of taking sb but i still took it, I also HATE healing hands as an alternative elite to sb but thats for a different discussion

atm i really like having a heal light infuser around in an enchantment based build. The heal light/kiss combo is golden as your main heals and you can heal light yourself after an infuse or if youre getting spiked.
